The European Mediterranean Horseracing Federation held its first in-person General Assembly in three years in Ireland on May 14th and 15th. Transferred at short notice from Warsaw, we are indebted to Horse Racing Ireland and The Curragh Racecourse for stepping in to host us superbly. A party of over 50 delegates, observers and exhibitors met over two days at The Curragh. The social programme also included a tour of the Irish National Stud and Irish Racehorse Experience, a behind-the-scenes look at The Curragh racecourse, official dinner with a ‘Tastes of Ireland’ theme, and a great day’s racing at Naas Racecourse.
Both Equine MediRecord Chief Executive, Pierce Dargan, and Chief Operating Officer, Finlay Dargan, both were asked to present to the delegates that had gathered from all over Europe. Pierce presented on behalf of the European Student Horseracing Federation, where he is an advisory board member. The European Student Horseracing Federation is a central body established to connect Student Horseracing Societies. Their aim is to promote and nurture the love of the sport amongst students of all backgrounds and interests. Most importantly, they wish to provide a platform for students from across Europe to meet at Race Days, and forge lasting connections. Finlay presented to the conference on the great work that has been conducted by Equine MediRecord has done over the past two years including our new projects that were launched with the Breeders Cup World Championships (read more here), 1S/T Racing working on The Pegasus World Cup and the Preakness Stakes (read more here) and the Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia with the Saudi Cup (read more here)
